VOTE TRAILS on November 4

With just a few hours before the polls open for the 2014 midterm election, TPAC wants to remind trail voters that most, if not all, of our endorsed key battleground candidates are in dead-heats or within the margin of error with their opponents.

A victory on November 4 means that new Senate leadership will hold federal regulators accountable through the use of riders on must pass spending legislation and oversight hearings.  They will also pass access-related and regulatory reform House bills and send them to the President.

A pro-trail Senate majority may also be the last line of defense against an onslaught of National Monuments – created without local stakeholder involvement - designated by the President via executive fiat.

TPAC nationalized this election to empower trail voters in states where there are no senate races so they can help shape the political landscape in Washington D.C.   We also worked hard to get local OHV enthusiasts engaged with our endorsed candidates.

Fake Outdoor Group Trying to Throw MT Senate Race

Over the last several years, extreme environmental organizations have created fake outdoor recreation or OHV groups to mask their anti-access agenda in various Forest Service and BLM travel planning processes.   So it should come as no surprise that proxies for Green Super PACs and enviro-activists have created a faux group called the Montana Hunters and Anglers Leadership Fund. 

According to the Fairfield Sun Times, this fake group just purchased $500K in TV ads to try and sabotage the campaign of Denny Rehberg who is a TPAC targeted key senate race.  A must win if we are going to elect a pro-trail majority to the U.S. Senate.

ALLEN v. KAINE BATTLE IN NOVEMBER IS KEY PUBLIC LAND ACCESS FIGHT

WASHINGTON D.C. –  Outdoor recreation access interests are watching to see if George Allen wins the primary to face Tim Kaine in the November general election.    

When Senator George Allen was in prior office (109th Congress), he was listed as a “Champion of Private Property Rights” by the League of Private Property Voters.

During that same time-period, then Governor Tim Kaine filed a petition with the federal government for them to set aside almost 25% of scarce multiple-use Forest Service lands as “Clinton-era Roadless Areas” on 400,000 acres in the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests.

Don Amador, Founder of The Trail PAC, states, “Off-roaders will continue to support the George Allen for Senate campaign in this election as one of our key targeted senate races.  Allen will need our support because the League of Conservation Voters (LCV) has targeted him for defeat.  As you know, LCV has a voting review committee comprised of hard-core anti-OHV groups including the Earthjustice Legal Defense Fund and The Wilderness Society.”
