As the Trail PAC continues to grow, off-road voters can expect to see more commentary on the 2012 election cycle. Even though the 2012 elections are still a long way off, there is one congressional race that TPAC is watching in NV-CD2.
Nevada voters will decide today in a special election between Mark Amodei (R) and Kate Marshall (D).
Access interests will have to decide which candidate not only will be most likely to listen and be interested in off-road issues, but just as important, will vote for pro-access committee chairmen on committees such as the House Subcommittee on National Parks, Forests, and Public lands. As you know, that subcommittee has been working hard on OHV and recreation access issues and is holding a field hearing next week on September 19 in Sacramento.

TPAC will be watching the returns tonight to see which candidate Nevada voters elect into office. Let’s hope that off-road voters have played some role in this battle. Your vote will help decide if you have a local voice in those aforementioned pro-access committee hearings and ultimately if they those hearings continue into the future.
